Year 6 Makes a Splash with Finding Nemo JR.

Last week, 榴莲社区鈥檚 Junior School lit up the stage with its vibrant production of Finding Nemo JR., featuring an extraordinary cast of 124 Year 6 students. Across four dazzling performances (two matinees and two evening shows), audiences were swept into the underwater world of Marlin, Nemo, and Dory in this one-hour musical adaptation of the beloved Disney路Pixar film.
Split into two casts, the Broadway and West End ensembles showcased remarkable talent. Emma (Nemo), Mimi (Marlin), and Belle (Dory) led the Broadway cast, while Harper, Evie and Eleanor brought the West End cast to life with equal charm and energy. The students dedicated over 50 hours of rehearsal time across two terms, including weekend sessions, to bring this ocean adventure to the stage.
The production was a feast of creativity, from the sleek shark costumes that stole the show to the hilarious antics of Crush and his turtle crew. The Tank Gang ensemble radiated personality, and the emotional depth between lead characters added genuine heart to the performance.
Head of Drama, Cate Whittle, praised the ensemble of staff and students鈥 efforts.
鈥淭he dedication of the team of wonderful teachers, led by the incredible director Sin茅ad Zille, was truly impressive. One of the most special things about Junior School Performing Arts is the opportunity it gives our Year 6 students to perform on stage, many for the very first time. It鈥檚 such a joyful experience that not only builds confidence and collaboration but also creates lasting memories for everyone involved.鈥
